GOVERNOR's and STATE LEGISLATOR'S PLEDGE

Committees of Safety's Pledge for
STATE LEGISLATOR OR GOVERNOR
(or candidates seeking such office)

I, __________________________, do hereby promise that, while in public office, to the best of my ability I shall support, seek to enforce, and always guide my actions according to the Constitution for the United States¹ and the Constitution for the State of ________________.

I acknowledge that all too many public officials in both the General Government in Washington, D.C., and the government of the State of _________________________ have failed, and even now continue to fail, to support the Constitution for the United States and the Constitution for the State of _________________________, either by neglecting or refusing to exercise powers that have been delegated to them for the common defense and the general welfare, or by usurping powers that have not been delegated to them at all.

I believe that, to correct this situation, We the People themselves, with the assistance of patriotic public officials, must reclaim and assert the two most important powers of government: the Power of the Purse and the Power of the Sword.

Specifically, I believe that We the People have the right to adopt whatever currency we desire for our State government’s use in its financial transactions, and that a currency consisting of silver and gold will provide the highest level of economic security to the State². I also believe that We the People have the right to revitalize the Militia³ of the State of _________________________, with which to provide the State with a full measure of “State security” that the People themselves control.

For these reasons, I support the Committees of Safety’s proposal that the Legislature of the State of _________________________ enact an Economic Security Bill which will adopt an alternative State currency of silver and gold, managed and protected through a revitalized State Militia.

As a State Legislator or Governor, or a candidate seeking such office, I hereby pledge my willingness to work with the Committees of Safety to accomplish these goals.
