History of the Tea Party Movement

If you want to understand the Tea Party movement today, I highly recommend Senator Rand Paul’s new book “The Tea Party Goes To Washington”. He accurately describes how this modern Tea Party movement began and the vital issues we are focusing on today. He correctly states it began on December 16, 2007. Over 1,000 Ron Paul supporters forged through a fierce blizzard to attend the Boston Tea Party 2007 event, organized by Corie Whalen. Dr. Rand Paul was the keynote speaker and the mission was Ron Paul’s money bomb, raising online that day an astounding 6 million dollars!

The following year, December 14, 2008, Committees of Safety sponsored the Boston Tea Party 2008 and again Dr. Rand Paul was the keynote speaker as well as Dr. Edwin Vieira. It was truly an honor to have had these great statesmen and constitutional scholars addressing us in the same Faneuil Hall that John Adams and Samuel Adams once spoke. Michael Nystrom of Daily Paul created a beautiful, limited silk screened poster commemorating the event. The theme that year was “Restore Sound Money!”

I told Michael the only thing I would have changed on an otherwise beautiful poster was, my name should have been smaller and Dr. Edwin Vieira’s name larger. Anyway, I am grateful to Senator Paul for including it on page 2 of his new book!
